Why 205live is Must-See right now

New 205live General Manager Drake Maverick can't do wrong currently

Launched in November 2016 as the Cruiserweight's own show 205live, to be honest,  never clicked with the audience. Boring or ridiculous storylines for the the highly talented athletes and the 'death-slot' after SmackDown LIVE made 205live often not even make the Top 10 list of the WWE Network's most-watched shows of the week.
The only bright spots were the outstanding performances of Neville, the tremendously entertaining appearances of Drew Gulak and jaw-dropping spots performed by Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali. But not even these guys were able to get 205live the attention it needed.

Just recently the Cruiserweight Chamionship had been declared vacant. It was at the same time, reports say, Triple H took over the show backstage. On air Drake Maverick took over as the first ever General Manager for 205live. The creative direction changed immediatley. Maverick announced a tournament to determine the next Cruiserweight Champion. 16 wrestlers under 205 pounds compete for a chance at championship-glory and for a spot in the finale at WrestleMania.

Of the 16 competitors that started out, these eight remained so far

Drake Maverick is pushing every talent to improve and to focus on the task at hand. The matches itself are incredible and very competetive. The best wrestling in WWE all week. You should definentley watch this tournament!

Eight Stars on their way to glory:

TJP: The first Cruiserweight Champion has something to prove. After losing the title the only thing of note he did was turning heel. Maybe he is making it to the finals just like he did in 2016 after winning the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament.  TJP has been eliminated by Cedric Alexander this week.

Credric Alexander: People chanted 'please sign Cedric' after jaw-dropping performances at the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament, but Alexander has yet to win the Cruiserweight Title. Before the title got declared vacant, Alexander was pretty close to winning the title. Let's hope he will realise his dream this time.

Roderick Strong: Coming from NXT he has something to prove. In NXT Strong was part of the best matches on the entire brand. But he never won the 'big one'. Maybe 205live will be the place were he can channel his talent into success.

Kalisto: He is a former United States, NXT Tag Team and Cruiserweight Champion. Therefore he is the most decorated man in the entire tournament. But before coming to 205live he hasn't been on his winning ways. Maybe the Tournament will boost his career in the right direction.  Kalisto has been eliminated by Roderick Strong this week.

Mustafa Ali: The man with the best spanish-fly in the business has locked his eyes on the price like no one else. It will be extremely hard to take him down.

Buddy Murphy: Murphy just joined the 205live-Roster, cutting down weight to qualify. Formely Murphy performed on NXT winning the NXT Tag Team Titles in 2015, but hasn't done anything of note since then. Maybe this will be a Cinderella-Story for WWE's Best Kept Secret.

Drew Gulak: Without winning the Cruiserweight Title yet, Gulak made waves in- and outside the Cruiserweight Division already. An incredible technical wrestler, Gulak and his 'For a Better 205live'-Agenda entertained tons of people in the past few months. His power-point presentations were the most entertaining part of the show. Now Gulak, who defeated his former best friend Tony Nese in the first round, has his eyes on the price and became a very dangerous man on the hunt for the Cruiserweight Title.

Mark Andrews: Originally coming from WWE's UK-Division, Andrews is a considered a guest on 205live. He was able to pull an upset victory of the former Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa in the first round. Does lightning strike twice for this man?
