Why WWE could learn so much from NXT

WWE's NXT is one, if not the, greatest wrestling products out there. Incredible storylines that go the long distance, make sense and feature amazing moments. Characters thoughtout the roster are thoughtout to it's core and are able to develop anlongside the people's reception. NXT is able to adapt, NXT is willing to find a way. NXT s a perfect team of talent, creative and head to make for something really really special. Every week you can look forward to a great TV show and every 3-4 months you know you going to have blast when NXT Takeover comes around. In short: It's close to perfection. It has everything you'd want. EVERYTHING.
So the question is: WWE is able to pull something like this off, why wouldn't they do it for RAW and SmackDown and their PPVs?
The question has been answered before: 'It's because we appeal to a larger much more mainstream audience'.
What must WWE think of their audience then? I think this answer is almost an insult, because the believe is that most people can't handle a program like this? There would not be an argument, when RAW and SmackDown would do fine, but the ratings as constantly awful!

If we are lucky, we get one good storyline and RAW and one better match per week. Of course people are turning off. Your biggest stars like John Cena, Triple H and The Undertaker can not carry this joint for 5 more years. Anytime WWE wants to make better ratings, they have to rely on them. Currently WWE has  huge problem with money-making stars. Their biggest installment, Roman Reigns, is a draw with the younger audience, but does not sell that much merch as Cena and Steve Austin did plus: Do you know someone that knows Reigns who isn't involved with wrestling? No! Same here. He is not very well known outside of the business, which is a bad thing. He can't get past a certain point, probably because WWE is not willing to change anything about him.
WWE's main roster is the the greatest roster they've ever had and most of them are actually from NXT! So WWE: What tells you that your audience would watch more of your stuff if you'd put some effort in again? Just don't drop the ball of with your talent so often. As anyone seen Bobby Roode lately? Or The Bar?
I'm sick of half-empty arenas of SmackDown (which actually tries something out sometimes, something RAW never does)  and bad ratings.
In autumn 2019 SmackDown is moving to FOX for 1 billion dollars. FOX has a much much much  larger audience and i'm sure they want to get their money's worth. So WWE has to improve, but will they? To me as a viewer is seems like they got all the tools to make a mark again, to get the mainstram attention they need. For a start, make RAW more endurable, please. Make more people tune in, not out. Yes ratings are going down in general, but we are living in the day and age of huge tv-shows like Game of Thrones and Stranger Things. People want more complex storylines, so WWE, try to adapt!
