What happened to Jim Johnston?

He was WWE's music genius 32 years. Almost every theme song, promo music or sample on WWE television was produced by him. In 2013 a DJ-Duo called 'CFO$' slowly began taking over his job. As of November 2017 Johnston saw himself fired from the WWE. His masterpieces of music had to make room for 30 to 45 second loops made by the new group in town.
But where is the unsung hero of the WWE now?

Throughout his career, Jim Johnston was shy. He did very few interviews and had only one appearance on WWE television at WrestleMania 14. He explained, that he suffers from stage fright.
In a recent interview he did with his friend Sean Mooney after his release he said, that the open and wide arena were WrestleMania 14 was held in made him feel like he's part of the crowd, thus taking the pressure from him. Twenty years after that he wouldn't have a job anymore. Johnston was one of the longest employed WWE workers. He made the music for WrestleMania I and wrestlers appearing on this year's WrestleMania 34 are still using his theme songs. To this day fans are lobbying for a Hall of Fame Induction of Johnston, but it is unlikely WWE would induct him, especially after Johnston stated his release was not the way he would have liked it. Vince McMahon just called him in, told him it's over and that was it. After 32 years.

His last gift to the WWE Universe was Baron Corbin's Out of the Darkness (End of Days Remix) featuring Tommy Vext:

Sean Mooney also asked him what will be next for Double J:
Johnston said he will 'put his name out there'. He will working on a website (http://jimjohnston.com/) and maybe even dive into Social Media. So one thing is for sure: After Jim Johnston, who says he still has a lot of unrealised ideas, is finished with his preparation he will return to the 'big stage' of music and produce for everybody that is interested. Let's hope other wrestling promotions have already reached out, because they only could benefit from the amazing mind that is Jim Johnston.
