Should Shawn Michaels really come out of retirement?

The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels retired in 2010 after a wrestling career that span over 26 years. He is a former Royal Rumble Winner, Tag Team Champion, Intercontinental Champion and World Champion. He is a WWE Hall of Famer. He is Mr. WrestleMania. He is one of the biggest legends we have in this business. Every Wrestling Fan knows The Show Stopper Shawn Michaels.
In 2010, after one of the best storylines WWE ever done, Shawn Michaels called it a day. After creating moments and having the best matches one can ever imagine, it was just time. At the age of 45 years Shawn Michaels retired at WrestleMania XXVI against The Undertaker. One of the best storylines, ended by one of the best matches in WWE. All to end one incredible career. The retirement of Shawn Michaels might be the best executed retirements ever. No forced retirement due to injury, no foced retirement by the WWE office, no return after retirement. Everything was perfect. Well was. 8 years after his final match Shawn Michaels might break his promise to never wrestle again, just like Terry Funk, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan and so many others did before him.

Now aged 53 and with 8 years of not getting physical what so ever does the audience want to see another Shawn Michaels Match?
Well before we can answer that question let's answer these fist:

What has Shawn Michaels done after retirement?
Well Shawn Michaels is and always will be a very welcomed guest on WWE television. Wether it to be to referee a match between his friend Triple H and The Undertaker, to superkick The League of Nations at WrestleMania 32 or to promote movie he is starring in like the upcoming WWE Studios Production The Marine 6. Or making headlines for cutting off his hair.
He also had a short-lived hunting series on TV. Currently he coaches the next generation of wrestlers in WWE's performance center.

Does Shawn Michaels wanna wrestle?
Before the news of his return broke, i would have told you a straight NO. Shawn Michaels has been asked to come back by Vince McMahon and the WWE atleast 100 times before. He always refused. Out of respect to The Undertaker, to the fans and just because it was time to says goodbye and the business went ahead without him. He is good where he's at. He does not have any problems either that would require him to get to work again.

Does WWE want Shawn Michaels to wrestle?
They wanted him back, yes. Atleast for the first years after his retirement. But the business changed during Michaels absence. Could he hang with the likes of Seth Rollins and AJ Styles? He is the one and only Shawn Michaels, but he is also 53 now. Right now as we are talking, WWE wants and needs Shawn Michaels back in the ring again, because WWE Crown Jewel is happening and it's the second Saudi-Arabia financed show and the money comes directly from the prince of Saudi-Arabia, who wants Shawn Michaels. No matter what. That LARGE amount of money made WWE forced Shawn Michaels to come back.

So will he really wrestle?
The Tag Team Match at November 2nd is very likely to happen. The only thing missing is an official announcement on WWE.com. So. Hands off the merchandise, the Main Event is here! Or is he? It is a Tag Team Match after all. Brothers of Destruction (and yes Kane is also coming out of retirement after he is the current Mayor of Knoxville, TN and should not compete right now) is going to face D-Generation X. A 90s match done in 2018. What might happen is Kane and Triple H working most of the match, until Shawn Michaels and Undertaker do a stare off (as Undertaker isn't really in the condition to wrestle full matches either) and Taker puts HBK down once again. But we will see.


I personally do not think Shawn Michaels should come back. But Saudi-Arabia's truckloads of moeny can be convincing. I get that. But Shawn Michaels had one of the greatest career ever. It doesn't need any topping. After all he had one of the greatest ending to a career you can have.

In the end the world will be watching. Just do not get hurt, Shawn.
