WrestleMania Battle Royal Winners

This year both genders will recieve a Battle Royal at WrestleMania for all the ones who were not able to get a WrestleMania match otherwise. The men's Battle Royal has been a part of WrestleMania since the WWE's 30th grand-daddy of them all. This article will take a look on past winners and potential future winnes of both upcoming Battle Royals. The question is: How much does a win here really matter and is it just the last hope for someone to be at WrestleMania somehow? Let's find out.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal:
Hulk Hogan introduced the world to the annual Battle Royal Event for WrestleMania. This year more eyes than ever will be on the Battle Royal, because of the HBO documentary about the 8th Wonder of the World, but the question how much were past winner able to profit from the win?

WrestleMania XXX: Cesaro

Cesaro is the inaugural winner of the Andre the Giant Memoral Battle Royal. He immediatly split from then Tag Team Partner Jack Swagger and hired Paul Heyman as his manager. The push was stopped for now explained reason and so far Cesaro has not on the World Title or even a singles title after that. But he is the most succesful Battle Royal Winner so far, walking into this year's WrestleMania the RAW Tag Team Champion alongside Sheamus.

WrestleMania 31: Big Show

That year a large portion of the WWE Universe wanted Damien Mizdow to win the match, but it was Big Show you eliminated Mizdow to become the 2nd ever winner of the match. Already past his prime Big Show did nothing of note after this victory, other than training extremely hard to get one more big match before his retirement. Show is viewed as Andre the Gaint's succesor and that is probably why he won that year.

WrestleMania 32: Baron Corbin

The Lone Wolf came from NXT and made an immediate impact by winning the 3rd installment of the AtG Memorial Battle Royal. Everything looked great with Corbin, later he won the Money in the Bank briefcase, but right after that everything went downhill. He cashed in and lost his chance at the World Title. After that he won the United States Title, but that run wasn't succesful either and that is why he returns to the Battle Royal this year.

WrestleMania 33: Mojo Rawley

The Hype Man won the Battle Royal last year. Right after that victory (he eliminated Jinder Mahal that year, who later became WWE Champion) his former Tag Team Partner Zack Ryder came back from injury and both targeted the Tag Team Titles, but with not success. Therefore Mojo turned heel on his friend. After that WWE did nothing with Mojo Rawley and he finds himself back in the Battle Royal this year.

As you see: The Battle Royal Winners did not have a lot of success for far. None of them ever came close the World Championship. Maybe one day that will change. But who is most likely to win the Battle Royal this year?

Matt Hardy is one of the favorites to win the match this year! He and his Woken Universe are a weekly thing on WWE program and a win here would be a boost to even bigger things he might do soon.

Bray Wyatt is Matt Hardy's current foe. Although their 'war' might be over, it is Wyatt who came out at the losing end and everything speaks for a new chapter in Wyatt's career, who's been on a downward spiral since last year, were he entered Mania as WWE Champion.

The Revival Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson claimed they will be the first ever Tag Team to win the Battle Royal. If that is possible (i haven't checked the rule-book yet) it is a win the duo needs. They are the best tag team in wrestling right now, but somehow the WWE forgot how to use them correctly.

Curt Hawkins. This one is simple. End his gigantic losing streak at the Grandest Stage of them All. This would truly be a shocker.

For the first time (since WrestleMania 25, but please do not Google this one) there will be a Women's Battle Royal at WrestleMania. At first WWE wanted to call the Battle Royal 'Fabulous Moolah Battle Royal' but Snickers and a Fan Outrage caused the name-change. Who would benefit from a win the most?

Becky Lynch NEEDS this victory. There is no way she can't win actually. She is one of WWE's Four Horsewomen and had hasn't had a storyline in over year. That is a crime. Lynch is extremely talented. Please WWE, DO IT!

Bayley is currently feuding with her best friend Sasha Banks, so both probably will eliminate each other, but a win for Bayley at WrestleMania would be something people could get behind.

Sasha Banks (see above) The Boss would also benefit from a victory.
Nikki Cross hasn't appeared on NXT in quite some time. Maybe Sanity's female member is preparing for a win at WrestleMania and that would be awesome!

What do you think about the Battle Royal and who do you want to see win?
