A Good-Bye to CFO$ and their milestones

When Jim Johnston was let go after 32 years in November 2017, WWE took a gamble when they decided to make CFO$ the soul musician artists for their entire product.

The fan base always remained devided, especially because CFO$ was known for putting out 30 Minutes loops rather than full songs.
Earlier this week, WrestleVotes broke the news that CFO$ and WWE parted ways after a 7 year business relationship.

Time to look back at CFO$'s milestones and what might earn them a little bit more credit than they usually get.

The Beginning

In the summer of 2012 a duo known as Kromestatik impressed WWE officials and fans with their incredible 'The Night' song. So much it was named the official theme song for the new three hour RAW, right after the historic RAW1000 episode. The song was remixed in 2014 and continued to be the intro theme for the show until 2016. Kromestatik, who later renamed themselves to CFO$, was invited to produce theme songs for WWE, so Jim Johnston could focus on production themes and pieces for WWE Studios.

The First Entrance Theme

On March 7th 2013 CFO$ released their very first entrance theme for a wrestler: 'Patriot' for Jack Swagger.
Swagger, who just returned with a new gimmick, was lucky that the new CFO$ track perfectly suited him. Have fun getting this one out of your head.

First Video Game Theme Song

What is wrongfully called an alternate theme song for Rusev and Lana is actually the theme song from John Cena's Fast Lane - was called 'Dantes Teeth'. A mobile game that WWE released in August 2013. In 2014 both theme songs of Rusev (Roar of the Lion) and Lana (Attention) were inspired by this song.

First Collaboration with a Wrestler

In 2014 Tyler Breeze became the first WWE Superstar to be invited by CFO$ to feature in his own theme song. '#MMMGorgeous' became an instant hit. In the future more wrestlers would be invited to sing/rap their own theme songs, like Sasha Banks, Naomi, Enzo Amore or The Usos.

The First and Only Feature with Jim Johnston

When Tyler Breeze and Fandango became a tag team in, Jim Johnston's celebration 'ChaChaLaLa' and Tyler Breeze's '#MMMGorgeous'. It was released under the Johnston name and titled 'Breezango', just like the tag team's name.
CFO$ would later go on and remix Johnston's themes without his involvement. As an example the remix of Veil of Fire (Rise Up Remix) can be named.

Their Greatest Hits

In 2016 struck gold with two back to back major hits. With Bobby Roode's 'Glorious Domination' peaked No.1 in the iTunes charts.
Shinsuke Nakamura's 'The Rising Sun' peaked No.2 on the United Kingdom.

Both songs defined CFO$. Nakamura's would later be performed by violn artist Lee England Jr. and then performed in a rock-remix by japanese band Shadows of the Sun, who renamed it 'Shadows of the Setting Sun'. Nakamura would later use this version after his heel turn at WrestleMania 34 in 2018.

One Last Good-Bye!?

Currently it is hard to say, if CFO$ will return to WWE and what their last theme song actually is.
What is quite clear: Neither Elias, nor Buddy Murpy, The Fiend Bray Wyatt or the NXT Breakout Tournament partcipants are currently using CFO$ theme songs.
Wikipedia lists Mia Yim's 'Number One' as the last CFO$ publication, however the theme songs of for example Dominik Dijakovic, Cesaro and Damien Priest have not been released yet and they all share CFO$ characteristics.
