Once upon a time wrestling was created and it gew passion inside the hearts of the spectators and competitors more and more. Only a few have such a passion, they become the human embodiment of the sports. One of them is Timothy Thatcher.
In a world of unique personalities, Thatcher is among the most special. Rarely have i seen someone with a dedication like him. Not only that, i can not think of someone who is sticking to his guns like Thatcher does. After listening to the BLOWN UP Podcast with him and watching him for a long time in the german indy-scene, so far peaking with his performance at the 16 Carat Gold weekend, i felt it was necessary to give this man a big shout out.

But first things first:

Who is Timothy Thatcher?

When i first saw the man with the best theme in the world, Timothy Thatcher, alongside WALTER in wXw as part of RINGKAMPF back in 2015, i must admit, i believed he was a man the british isle, but Thatcher is american, born in Sacramento, California he mainly made a name for himself in the US-promotion EVOLVE. Thatcher, who held Tag Team gold with WWE Cruiserweight Drew Gulak on numerous occasions, is the longest reigning EVOLVE World Champion ever, holding the title for 596 days.

German wrestling promotion wXw caught Thatcher's eye in 2012, when Thatcher was looking for promotions who still do 'Shoot Style' wrestling. wXw, who these days celebrates the artform as part of their annual Ambition Tournament, was the place to be for Thatcher and he remained a part of their program until this day, even moving to Germany for several months per year to follow his dreams.
Thatcher's 'way of wrestling' is awesome to see and perfectly translates to the audience, what he understands, wrestling should be.
In 2015 Thatcher then formed RINGKAMPF alongside WALTER, Axel Dieter Jr., Axel Tischer and Christian Michael Jakobi. Between 2017 and 2018 him and WALTER held the wXw Tag Team Championships. The team has been featured across europe, also competeting for OTT, PROGRESS and RevPro in the past.
WALTER and Timothy Thatcher also won the 2017 edition of the wXw World Tag Team League.
In 2018 Thatcher won the 9th installment of the Ambition Tournament, which ment so much to him, it was an epic sight to see. In 2019 Thatcher was able to face his mentor Yuki Ishikawa, another big moment for Thatcher.

Is there more to Thatcher?

Yes. I perviously mentioned his phenomenal passion, but there is also the awesome story behind the in-ring character and most likely the person Timothy Thatcher as a whole.

This story has been growing for years and is something so interesting, it is definatley worth a watch.

With RINGKAMPF Thatcher found friends in wreslting people with the same drive and passion as him. But in order to get the fame and glory of the business, they decided to sign with the big leagues, something Thatcher does not seem to have any interest in, because that is not what he things is the right thing for him.
Thatcher would rather like to be forgotten, then remembered for giving in. That is a strong message, a message that is going to cement his legacy when the dust has settled.

Until then, the man that is Tim Thatcher is going to give us moment upon moment and hopefully, one day, he wins wXw 16 Carat Gold, to show everyone you can make your own decision against the flow and still be succesful. What a man.
