5 Worst WrestleManias Ever

WrestleMania 27,

5. WrestleMania XXV

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania was not very well recieved among fans. Despite having a great build for matches for almost every match and memorable moments like the JBL retirement, Mickey Rouke's involvement and CM Punk winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, the only match that was recieved a great was The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, in fact it was one of the greatest matches ever. An unfortunate faith for the Anniversary, for personally i liked this show much more as the majority and Ricky Steamboat secretly stealing the show one more time, gives to chills to this day. But: Orton vs. Triple H should not have main evented, this is probably the reason the fans were not all that happy when the show was set and done.

4. WrestleMania XXVIII

This WrestleMania was basically a one match card. The 'Once in a Lifetime' match between John Cena and The Rock was planned a year ahead and WWE was pratically telling you: The rest doesn't matter. With Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan ending in 18 seconds and the awful multi-men Tag Team Match between RAW and SmackDown, it was up to Jericho and CM Punk to save the day. And yes, there also was The Undertaker vs. Triple H, which was a great match, but in retroperspective the announced 'End of an Era' never came which will always leave a sour feeling on this match, especially after the events of Crown Jewel in 2018. The Rock vs. John Cena itself wasn't even that great and the WWE Championship should have Main Evented here, because the crowd was more into it and it was just way better quality wise.

3. WrestleMania 29

Because the Mania the year before was such a big financial success, but not that well recieved by the fans, WWE made the dicussion...to the same thing again. Again Rock vs. Cena got the Main Event, but this time for the WWE Title. The rest of the card, was well, not that Mania worthy. We had The Undertaker vs. CM Punk, which was fine and HHH beating Lesnar, which almost cost Lesnar all of his momentun. Swagger vs. Del Rio could have been great, but Swagger seeing the green light before the show of shows got us a clear winner before this match was even happening. What a boring, awful show this was. Just ment to be forgotten.

2. WrestleMania XI

For a long time it seemed like WWE (the WWF during that era) couldn't do wrong with WrestleMania. But during the dreaful mid-90s era of the WWF, even the show of shows suffered.
Almost no star power and the Main Event of Bam Bam Bigelow with Lawrence Taylor (who wasn't even a wrestler), who are not really the ones to go last on a show like this, just told everyone: This show is just terrible. The entire show felt more like a glorified houseshow than the biggest event of the year. The only thing i liked, watching the show for the first time a couple of years ago, was the match between Bob Backlund and Bret Hart. Thankfully WWE learned and never booked such a random card ever again....Yes i am joking.

1. WrestleMania XXVII

Because 16 years later they did the same thing again. Yes the stage was awesome and Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio was awesome and Orton vs. Punk was also great. But we had another Bryan vs. Sheamus match cut short, so the Great Khali can win a Rumble, a random 8-Men Tag featuring Santino Marella and The Corre, Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler, Snooki from Jersey Shore, a pretty boring HHH vs. Undertaker match and a main event of The Miz vs. John Cena which would be awesome today, but back then it was not really good and played 2nd fiddle to the build to the first John Cena vs. The Rock Match for the following year. A shame Edge did retire at a show like this.
