WWE WrestleMania 35: Thoughts and Results

This was the best WrestleMania in a long time. It was too long, absolutley but WWE did their best to get everything in line and give almost everything the right touch to make it a success. After a truly awful, dare i say, horrible build to this show, the show itself delivered. Congratulations if you survived all these hours, you witnessed a good wrestling show.

CatchChat is going to take a short break after this. See you soon.

WrestleMania Match

Match Matchrating Positioning Result Comment
1 Tony Nese def. Buddy Murphy© for the WWE Cruiserweight Title Great Bad Great This great rivalry should have made it to the Main Show, the two gave it their all and it was a great exchange before Nese finally captured the title.
2 Carmella won the Women‘s Battle Royal Bad Great Bad It is her hometown ok, but it was the same finish at last year and the match had zero great spots.
3 Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins def. The Revival© for the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles Great Bad Great The 11 year long journey, the end of the streak. The greatest victory in Curt Hawkins career. This match should have been on the Maincard just for it‘s epicness. What a wonderful thing. Hawkins at last.
4 Braun Strowman won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Bad Great Ok Expected victory from a match pretty boring. Luke Harper was there.
5 Seth Rollins def. Brock Lesnar© for the WWE Universal Title Ok Great Great Epic pic to open this show, weird match but with the right result. The fast pacing was well picked.
6 AJ Styles def. Randy Orton Great Great Great A very great match, glad this match went on early so the two got the appreciation by the crowd.
7 The Usos© def. Rusev & Nakamura, The Bar and Ricochet & Aleister Black for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Titles Great Great Great Best match of the night. All teams gave it their all. The Usos showed once more how great they are. More of this and the Tag Division would be on a great path.
8 Shane McMahon def. The Miz in a Falls Count Anywhere Match Great Great Bad This was an unexpected golden piece. Funny or breath-taking spot all around. Miz Dad even got involved. When Shane ‚accidently‘ won after a phenomenal spot it felt like a bummer to a flawless match.
9 The Iiconics def. Divas of Doom w/Bret Hart, Jax & Tamina and Sasha Banks & Bayley© for the WWE Women‘s Tag Team Titles Ok Great Ok I am not fan ot the Iiconics since their call-up. Their victory caught me be surprise, the match itself suffered from Tamina and Jax not being able to hold their own against the rest of the teams.
10 Kofi Kingston© def. Daniel Bryan© for the WWE Title Great Great Great The best singles match of the night, the best victory of the night. A true feel good moment. Kofi finally did it. This is what wrestling is. Just the best thing ever.
11 Samoa Joe© def. Rey Mysterio for the WWE United States Title Bad Ok Great A squash match, felt welcomed after so much wrestling, but Joe and Rey deserve better.
12 Roman Reigns def. Drew McIntyre Great Bad Great This match suffered from it‘s position. Both gave it everything to get the crowd back to life, it was a great match but we all were tired or exhausted at this point.
13 Triple H def. Batista in a No Holds Barred Match Ok Bad Great Same as the McIntyre/Reigns match. Probably Batista‘s final match ever. Probably also a little bit too long.
14 Baron Corbin def. Kurt Angle in the final match of Angle‘s career Bad Ok Bad What a shame to end Angle‘s career on. Gonna miss you Kurt.
15 Finn Balor def. Bobby Lashley© for the WWE Intercontinental Title Ok Great Great The Demon arrived and had to work a dead crowd, the match was paced pretty well and i liked it. Best match of Bobby Lashley since his comeback. Got us back in the mood.
16 Becky Lynch def. Charlotte Flair© & Ronda Rousey© for the RAW and SmackDown Women‘s Titles Great Great Great The main event. Women doing it for the first time in history. It was a great match and Becky Lynch is finally our champion. I am very happy WWE made the right choice here.
