Is the UK Division still a thing?

14 months ago the WWE installed the United Kingdom Championship on WWE program. A two-night tournament held in Blackpool, England saw Tyler Bate walk out as the first WWE UK Champion. Back then british TV-Channel ITV relaunched their World of Sports-Brand for a new wrestling show and the UK title seemed to be WWE's answer to their plans. Many people speculated this would only be the beginning and soon WWE would install more championships and division across the globe. But as ITV's plans for new episodes of World of Sports were forgotten, so were WWE's plans for UK based show on the WWE Network. Since then the UK Champion became a regular on WWE NXT. At an NXT Takeover event in May 2017, Tyler Bate lost his Championship to the 'Bruiserweight' Pete Dunne who held the title every since.

Pete Dunne keeps defending the championship against people from around the world, so it is possible that the division is not a thing anymore and everybody, including american wrestlers, could become the next United Kingdom Champion as a part of the NXT Brand. With Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne the WWE signed another bunch of wrestlers who competed in the UK Tournament like Trent Seven (who is the best friend of Tyler Bate, their team is known as 'Moustache Mountain'), Wolfgang (sometimes appears on NXT TV), Danny Burch (who never challenged for the UK Title and formed a tag team with Oney Lorcan instead), Joseph Conners (who never appeared on WWE TV since) and others. All of them have a special WWE contract which allows them to compete for british promotions like ICW and Progress.

The answer to the question if the United Kingdom Title did move from the Main-Title of a never-realized UK Show to a secondary title on NXT was not given out by WWE, yet, but everything speaks this is indeed a fact. Currently Pete Dunne is part of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament alongside Roderick Strong. The other UK-Contracted Superstars do not have a storyline. So what do you think? Is the UK Title not getting any further? Will Pete Dunne forever be Champion? Will WWE creative install storylines for the other UK-Wrestlers? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
