Who really is WALTER?

There has been an incredible buzz around the Austrian Ringgeneral WALTER in the european indy-scene as of late. It close to boil over, if you got WALTER on your show, you sell out it seems.
He is the current PWG, OTT and Progress Champion, a former 3-time WXW Unified World Wrestling Champion and their first and current Head Trainer at the WXW Academy.
He is also part of the wrestling stalbe RINGKAMPF which is him, Timothy Thatcher and Christian Michael Jakobi, who is the CEO of Westside X-Treme Wrestling. Alexander Wolfe and Marcel Barthel, who both are currently signed to WWE, have also been a part of RINGKAMPF before.

It is no secret that WWE also wants a piece of WALTER. He has been contacted numerous times by the biggest promotion there is and he, so far, refused for reasons I will explain further down the line.
WALTER has been rewarded a 5-time match in October 2017 for his fight with Zack Sabre Jr. at the PWG All-Star weekend.

But who is the master of the Chop?

Way before making waves in Europe and the entire world, WALTER was already a huge star in German Wrestling. But how this came to be?
The Austrian's rise started back in 2007, aged 19 - he wrestled two year prior to this. Always the professional he immediatly traveled to Japan to learn the craft. He wrestled for Pro Wrestling ZERO1, in the January-Tour he won 8 in 8 matches.

In May 2007 a young and up-an-coming WALTER arrived in the young and up-an-coming promotion Westside-Xtreme Wrestling, located in Essen, Germany.
Three years after his arrival his incredible powemoves let him to his first WXW Unified World Wrestling Championship, defeating Zack Sabre Jr. in the process. It was SEKIMOTO who was able to pin the walking tree that is WALTER. But ever the opportunist, WALTER won the title back right away. El Generico, now signed to the WWE, beat him in May 2012, holding the title for over a year!

WALTER teamed with 'The Avalanche' Robert Dreissker to get his massive hands on the WXW World Tag Team Titles in March 2013, when he defeated the team of Jay Skillet and Jonathan Gresham. Axel Dieter Jr. (aka Marcel Barthel) and Da Mack (known from the WWE Cruiserweight Classic) defeated Walter and Dreissker later that year.

In July 2014 Walter was able to defeat Tommy End, now known as Aleister Black, to win his 3rd World Title. Only one man was able to stop him, my personal hometown hero: The King, Karsten Beck.

In October 2015 WALTER AGAIN claimed the WXW Tag Titles, this time with former foe Zack Sabre Jr, but dropped the titles to Ilja Dragunov and Robert Dreissker (Cerberus) in December the same year. He also won the WXW Tag Titles with Timothy Thatcher on October 2017, they dropped is to RISE (Da Mack and John Klinger) in March 2018.

In 2016 WALTER became the Head Trainer of the WXW Acedemy.
He also won the 2010 version of the 16-Karat Gold Tournament, the 2014 Shortcut to the Top Match as well as both the World Tag Team League 2016 and 2017 with Timothy Thatcher.

While building his craft in WXW, since 2015 WALTER dove into the indy-scene more and more.
Under the name of 'Big Daddy Walter' he arrived in PROGRESS Wrestling, on the the biggest british wrestling promotions. He became a 2-time Progress Atlas Champion is currently their World Champion, main eventing their shows frequently.

In 2017 WALTER arrived at EVOLVE and Pro Wrestling Guerrila. In the latter he won the PWG World Title and his it's current holder.
He joined Defiant Wrestling in 2018, where he is their current Internet Championship, a title he won by defeating Travis Banks and AGAIN (you guessed it) Zack Sabre Jr. In August 2018 is appearances in Over-Top-Wrestling (a big promotion in Ireland) paid off by winning OTT Title, a title which he also holds until this day.

As you see: WALTER is unstoppable at the moment. A collector of title gold and an absolute pro!

So why doesn't WALTER go to the WWE?
In a recent interview where he explained he is interested in NXT, but has no desire in working on RAW or SmackDown.
Also, in an FAQ segment earlier this year on WXW's YouTube Channel, the WXW CEO Christian Michael Jakobi said, they won't hold WALTER back during his 'best years'. But: WALTER loves WXW, he loves his full-time job as their Head Trainer and he adores what he is doing right now with RINGKAMPF, PWG, Progress, OTT and others.

Never say Never, especially in Pro Wrestling, but they day WALTER signs with NXT is an incredible gain for the WWE, but also incredible loss with European Wrestling. Until then: Let's enjoy WALTER!
