Why Kofi Kingston earned everything he gets right now

HEAR THEM SHOUTING??

Kofi Kingston is currently in his 13th year with the WWE. He one of the highest decorated WWE Superstars of all time. In fact, if he wins the WWE Championship at Fastlane, he would be highest decorated WWE Superstar of all time. Sure others won 16 World Titles or had decade-long title reigns, but Kofi Kingston's achievements are equally as impressive.

When Kingston first arrived in WWE in 2006 he quickly earned himself a name as a top-highfylers. During his years on ECW, RAW and SmackDown he earned the reputation to be a master of a sky.

But Kofi is more than that. Being called names like 'The Wildcat' or the 'Dreadlocked Dynamo' the man that was billed from Jamaica at first, but is actually from Ghana, West-Africa, the Kingston able to be so good, he remained on weekly WWE program. Wether it would be teaming with the likes of CM Punk, Evan Bourne or R-truth or fighting for the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the late 00s and early 10s, Kingston has seen and done it all. Especially when he started teaming with The New Day (Xavier Woods and Big E). Everything, but winning the WWE Championship.

To the numbers:

Kofi Kingston is a 4-time Intercontinental Champion:
Winning the title in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012. He spend (in total) 266 days with WWE's prestigious mid-card title.
Also Kingston is a 3-time United States Champion:

Another reign followed in R-truth in 2012, spanning 139 days.
In 2015 The New Day has their first ever reign as WWE (RAW) Tag Team Champion, spanning 49 days.Later that year The New Day regained the titles, this time holding for a world-record-breaking 483-days.In 2017 New Day added the SmackDown Tag Team Titles to the list, with 28 days as champions. Shortly after they won the titles again and held it for 26 days. Their - so far- last reign came in August 2018, with 56 days.In total WWE has trusted Kofi Kingston with a championship for an incredible amount of 1,448 days. WOW!

But the company's top prize has eluded him so far. Why is that?

9 years ago Kofi Kingston saw himself in a big push against then WWE Champion Randy Orton. While the storyline was well recieved by the audience, especially when Kingston Orton's NASCAR in a memoral RAW-segment. But all changed when, in non-title match, Kingston kept getting back up when he was supposed to stay down. Orton then got furious and called on 'stupid' on air, using an RKO to put him down, rather than the planned Punt-Kick. Orton then managed to get Kingston out of the world picture, banning him to the midcard. But Orton's past is coming back to haunt. Kingston owned the midcard and became, as adressed earlier, the most decorated midcard champion in history and the fans and Kofi, they didn't forget. After Kingston jaw-dropping Gauntlet-Match and Elimination Chamber performances last week, Kingston bursted back to the World Title Picture. Randy Orton might not be champion this time around, because Kofi Kingston will be challenging Daniel Bryan at this year's WWE Fastlane, but in a 6-Men Tag Team Match on SmackDown, Kingston was able to return the favour against Orton, shouting 'stupid' back at him.

BOOM! At WWE Fastlane, once again, the WWE Universe will be hanging on the edges of their seats with every SOS, every Monkey-Flip, every Boom-Drop and Trouble in Paradise, because Kofi Kingston is not the flavour of the month. The new rise of Kingston is a the pay-off of for a decade of hard work.
He made the fans believe in him again and the lockerroom is also behind Kofi, creating the hashtag #KofiMania as Kingston could be closing in on not only becoming WWE Champion, but going to WrestleMania as champion. Big E and Xavier Woods made it known, they are behind their man. For years they have viewed him as their hero and are honored to be tagging with him.

WWE Fastlane could be becoming a true moment in history. Not only would Kofi Kingston become the first ever african-american WWE Champion, he would write history by becoming Triple-Crown and Grand-Slam-Champion at the same time. Kofi Kingston as been underestimated for quite some time, but all he needed was the right moment and now it is here. Make sure to watch WWE Fastlane, even it still seem impossible for Kingston to go home with the title, if he does, you will be witnessing something so incredible, you want to tell the tale.
It's time for the mega-multi-time champion to become the Champion of Champions.
