Why Kevin Owens' Promo is massively strange

Source: wwe.com

For those of you, who has not seen the promo. Watch this first:

You wonder why RAW and SmackDown's are down? Kevin Owens adressed part of the reason on SmackDown this week, when he called out Shane McMahon for being omni-present.

And Kevin Owens could not be more right. Shane McMahon is currently involved in a storyline with Drew McIntyre, Elias, The Miz, Roman Reigns, The Undertaker, Dolph Ziggler and, so it seems now, Kevin Owens. He is also speculated to enter a program with WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. All of this is happening across both RAW and SmackDown, taking up the majority of tv-time.
I personally never saw someone being involved in so much many angles. It is insane and it has been driving off viewers in the thousands.

But what is strange about this promo, then?

Do not get me wrong. Kevin Owens said the right stuff and his delivery was awesome. The crowd's reaction was amazing and it felt right. But still is insanely weird if you think about it.
As most of you know WWE promos are scripted. It felt like it comes from the heart (and it probably does a little bit) but this is because Kevin Owens is that damn good on the microphone. Someone working for WWE has written this and has been approved by the company's chairman Vince McMahon.

So the company knows its issues and it not facing them. That is massively strange to me.

This son of the company's owner being featured all over the place. He is not a wrestler. He is 49 years old. And again, he is not a wrestler.
We can only hope this actually causes the company to use McMahon's airtime for actual wrestlers performing and not him anymore. It is interesting how Owens went back to the McMahon Family Promo from the start of 2019, when all four of them promised they would listen to the fans. Maybe, 7 months after that, they might finally do.
